The NEW Roxybike Event in March 2025
With an average of 3 rainy days per month and a daily average of 17 degrees C, the “winter” on the Spanish Mediterranean coast is very mild - making the (fortunately still very unknown) Costa Blanca the perfect winter mountain bike destination.
We'll ride the best trails around Altea, La Nucía and Benidorm - and thanks to riding shuttle-assisted, we'll have LOTS of fun trails with a maximum of 1000m to pedal ourselves. During the skills workshops we'll work on making the rocky gnar more flowy, adding some fun to our super natural, rough trails. You can also look forward to off-bike activities where we mingle with the locals to experience the Mediterranean vibe up close.
The 2025 dates on the Costa Blanca are exclusively for Roxybike repeaters from all over the world - that is: riders who have been working with Roxy personally on their skills (either in person or with her remote video coaching). Why so? This way we can have a really good time together, as we just vibe together - and we can build the Roxybike Skills Pyramid higher while minimising risks.
A maximum of 7 hand-picked riders will be in our group, getting to know the area from several perspectives, as we'll ride not only on the coastline, but also in the hinterland.
We want to bring like-minded riders from different cultures together with this event, so the language during the guided tours is English. The skills workshops will be held in German and English. (No worries, you do not need to understand German!)
Which skill/endurance level + mindset is required?
You should be used to riding uphill on fire roads, and downhill on gnarly trails, you should enjoy riding in control, have a passion to tackle technically demanding, partly flowy, but mostly rough (dust-dry) trails and need to bring a LOVE to learn and improve. The trails range from a flowy blue level to a rough and blocked black level. You should therefore have extensive MTB experience and be able to ride UK-level red to black (= black to double black in the US) trails safely on flat pedals and also be prepared to push sections or carry/walk your bike a few meters uphill. You should also not be afraid of heights, as we often ride on exposed trails. In terms of fitness, you can expect up to 1000 meters of ascent, up to 2000 meters of descent and up to 45 km off-road.
Thanks to our shuttle, we won't pedal ALL the climbs, but instead take some time to enjoy the breathtaking views. We'll generally take it easy, putting enjoyment before ambition, bring respect for slower riders, get to know the culture and enjoy good vibes together - in true Roxybike style!
This event will be accompanied by Roxy & Berni as well as local guide José - so the group will be led in German and English and will also be mixed in terms of language.
E-bikers who meet these requirements are also welcome - so no e-bike hate please!
In addition to cycling, we would like to offer you the opportunity to get to know this unique region from several angles. Of course, we devote a lot of time to trail-fun and skill development during the workshops, but we also want to spend time with you away from the bike and introduce you to the contrasting lifestyle, the beautiful nature and culinary delights.
Roxy will be coaching, Roxy & Berni will be guiding and sometimes we may also have our good friend and local Guide José join us for some authentic Spanish style and flow!

The Grand Luxor Hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle with a view of the sea and the bay of Bendiorm. It's the ideal starting point for us, as we can reach the best trails and bike spots without long shuttle times. The hotel also impresses with its excellent cuisine (half board), modern and elegant rooms, gym, a large spa with sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzis and indoor pool. Every day you can enjoy the sunrise directly from your balcony or the huge sun terrace before heading to the rich breakfast buffet. The bikes are safely parked in a special bike box, which also has a bike wash and a range of tools. If the weather is so bad that we can't hit the trails, we stay at the hotel and use the huge underground garage to hone our riding skills.
NOTE: Roxybike is not a travel agency. We offer booking the hotel and shuttle merely as a service.
